Welcome to The English Country Garden
Welcome to The English Country Garden! Seasonal living, cut flowers and country home inspiration from our house in the English countryside.
Garden Diary
A journey through our garden (which is actually two gardens because our house sits in the middle of the plot), as they change through the seasons. A wide but shallow back garden, and a long front garden, which together make for a wonderful space: not huge, but big enough to get creative. Discover cottage garden planting ideas, sowing growing and cutting flowers, greenhouse projects, seasonal colour and the joy of bringing flowers into the house!
Country Home
A comfortable 5 bed home: a quirky self-build which was built in the 80s but made to look like a farmhouse interior with robust walls and a few arches! We are slowly working on the exterior to give it a more traditional look. The interior is almost how I envisaged it when we first looked around and fell in love with the overall “feel”. Country home inspiration, thoughtful interiors and everyday details that make a house feel welcoming. From vintage touches to seasonal styling, I share the spaces and ideas that make our home feel special.
Seasonal Living
Celebrating each season when we are actually in it. Be this through the garden, nature, home or away. Everyday moments from sowing seeds to gathering blooms – there are many simple acts that allow us to celebrate a slower, more mindful way of living!
About
I was in a fast paced career for many years, until I stepped away to live a slower way of life with my firstborn. Since then I have been blessed with baby number two! They are growing up fast but I am now enjoying the balance that content creation through Instagram – my main social platform and a natural progression – brings me, allowing me to create with and bring to you content from my home and garden (especially), and the surrounding countryside. I also share products from brands I’m an ambassador for. These brands are always ones that I resonate with and when I consider working with them I look for one or more of the following: true craftsmanship, locality (local, or at least British is best), low carbon footprint (BCORP is amazing), or even just a small family run business who are passionate about what they do, handing their precious skills down through the generations! And I need to be sure that the products will genuinely help to enhance your life in some way!
